When you don’t know how dressed up you're supposed to be for an event, layering is the way to go. With the jacket on, the look is more playful and casual but I can easily switch over to something more going-out appropriate when I take it off. I had to fight every instinct in my body to add a pop of color but I think the look is more contemporary without it. I might spruce it up with some purple eyeshadow in the future though.
